While discussing this subject, it is extremely important to have in mind your real expectations and goals regarding this beautiful journey of living abroad. Of course there will be exciting moments, but also a lot of scary ones, and on these moments, your strongest goals will be, without any doubt, your solid ground to overcome the difficulties of a migrant life. So, instead of rating this experience as something merely exciting or scary, you need to comprehend the subjectiveness of this matter, because each person has their own way of living abroad. Besides that, there are some points that almost every expatriate lives sooner or later.
Since living abroad always means to learn a lot and immerse yourself in a new culture, you need to understand that your sorroundings will change you, and this is extremealy exciting. To be specific, you’ll never be the same after leaving your birth country, because you’ll expand your mind in so many ways that it will be impossible to fit in the same “box” again. Even if you return to your city, to your family, there will always be a desire for more, because you'll have experienced a bigger view of things and other ways of living, and afterall, that will turn you into a new version of you. If this new you will be better, it is up to you to decide, nevertheless it will be, definitely, a freer version and one with a lot more curiosity and knowledge.

Although, along with the new experiences of an immigrant, the challenges also appear, and sometimes these could be hard to beat. For some people, the absence of the family is the scariest feeling. For others, the challenges of learning a new language could be a nightmare. The truth is that in all cases, what is really scary is the change. Meanwhile, this change, as was said before, is also an exciting point, in spite of this we do act resistantly when the change knocks on our door. Living in a new country means having a new home, new friends, a new job, everything is new, and this can be overwhelming, even for those who like the excitement and the adrenaline of starting something from scratch. However, when the dawning moments come, it is necessary for us to remember our goals for this adventure in the first place. These goals will keep us focused on the purpose of all that we've been doing and will give us the strength to overcome all the challenges that may come.

Therefore, it's clear that living abroad is not easy, neither a challenge you should underestimate, because even if you are an adventurous person, you need to be prepared for the bad days. Nevertheless, the experience of being immersed in another culture and language is one of the richest that we can pursue in life. All the difficult moments are worth it when you can see the whole picture and all the benefits that you can achieve with this journey. I would advise you to take advantage of the opportunity of being an expatriate if you have one, and if you haven't, you can always create your own opportunity with the right planning and a dose of willpower. Just go knowing that after all the experience that we're talking about, everything in your life will have changed, and that's the true beauty of this process.
